Desk accessories

Now it's time to add some desk accessories to our collection. A desk accessory is a program that can be loaded from the deskTop and it can also be loaded from within many applications. In other words, you don't neccessarily have to exit out of an application to run a desk accessory. They are typically small in size and there are many available. What we have here is just a small sampling of what's available elsewhere.

Let's start by grabbing the desk accessories that should be located on our boot disk. These particular desk accessories set up the look and feel of your GEOS system, so it makes sense that you would want them on your boot disk. Use Convert 2.5 on these and then copy them to your boot disk.

For the 64:
preference mgr (5K) - the preference manager
pad color mgr (5K) - the pad color manager

For the 128:
preference mgr (6K) - the preference manager
pad color mgr (5K) - the pad color manager

Now let's check out some other handy desk accessories. These can be placed on any disk where you might find them useful.

For the 64:
photo manager (10K) - manages your photo scrap albums
text manager (9K) - manages your text scrap albums
alarm clock (3K) - set a timer alert
calculator (4K) - a handy calculator
note pad (5K) - jot down notes for yourself

For the 128:
photo manager (11K) - manages your photo scrap albums
text manager (10K) - manages your text scrap albums
alarm clock (4K) - set a timer alert
calculator (4K) - a handy calculator
note pad (5K) - jot down notes for yourself

Go ahead and play with these desk accessories and see what they can do. When you're ready, go ahead to the next step and get the rest of the files you'll be wanting. This will include the applications such as geoWrite and geoPaint as well as some other useful applications, font files, printer drivers, etc.
